This years Students on the YPS Course have now taken their final tests and have done a fantastic job and learnt so much.
More information is to follow when the students receive their certification and final scores. For some years, the District Shooting Team has been planning to organise the opportunity for scouts in the district to take part in the Youth Proficiency Scheme for Rifle Shooting.
We are now in the position to offer the 10-week scheme starting
Next Course Coming 2024
We are looking for those who may be interested to show their interest in taking part. The course is an opportunity for children to learn more about the art of target shooting and provides them with all the knowledge they need to compete in rifle shooting competitions. The course gives participants the opportunity to shoot every week as well as learn about the Law, care of the equipment, shooting safety, grouping, and so much more!
At the end of the course, participants will participate in a mock competition and test, which, when added together, will give them a badge and title depending on their scores. The grades achievable are;
- Skilled Shot
- Marksman
- Expert
- Master Shot
All the Participants will be able to progress to other awards if they so wish.
