For some years, the District Shooting Team has been planning to organise the opportunity for district scouts to participate in the Youth Proficiency Scheme for Rifle Shooting.
We are now in the position to offer the 10-week scheme starting
Thursday 28th September 2023
We are looking for those who may be interested to show their interest in taking part. The course is an opportunity for children to learn more about the art of target shooting and provides them with all the knowledge they need to compete in rifle shooting competitions. The course allows participants to shoot every week and learn about the Law, care of the equipment, shooting safety, grouping, and so much more!
At the end of the Course, Participants will participate in a mock competition and test, which, when added together, will give them a badge and title depending on their scores. The grades achievable are;
- Skilled Shot
- Marksman
- Expert
- Master Shot
All the Participants will have the opportunity to progress to other awards if they so wish.
